This report contains the research, development and design process of the XFORM project.Meywalk XFORM is a walking aid for young adults that require a high degree of support to standup and walk.The World Health Organization (WHO) states that every person with special needs must beprovided with a complete care that,not only takes into account the physical or medical problem,but also helps the patient to improve other needs, i.e. psychological and social.(1)From this point of view, the aim of the XFORM is not only to provide the users with a collapsiblestrong, comfortable, easy to use gait trainer, helping to stimulate muscle strength, blood circulationand imitate the human natural gait.But also to solve other needs, giving the user the possibility toachieve and maintain optimal functioning in interaction with the environment.(1)
