Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This thesis project was carried out on behalf of SL-Fulfillment GmbH, a third-party logistics company that uses an internal web-based application in its daily warehouse operations. The existing application was already used for time reporting and the registration of incoming goods but lacked support for certain special orders and for inventory management of internal consumable supplies. The purpose of the project was therefore to further develop the application into a more comprehensive internal work tool. The project was conducted using an iterative development process in close collaboration with the client. Building upon the existing technical solution, the work focused primarily on two main areas: the development of an order management module integrated with Power Automate, and the creation of a digital inventory management system for consumable goods.

The result was an enhanced web application in which special orders can be received from Power Automate, displayed in an order overview, and managed through a detailed view featuring checklists, time tracking, and status management. When an order is completed, relevant information can be sent back to Power Automate for further processing within the client’s workflows. The application was also extended with an inventory management feature that allows products to be registered through barcode scanning or manual search. When stock levels fall below a predefined threshold, the system can send an alert via Power Automate. In summary, the project successfully achieved its primary objectives. The application now provides improved digital support for both special order processing and inventory management within warehouse operations. The project demonstrates that the existing application could be expanded into a more comprehensive internal work tool without requiring a complete redevelopment of its underlying technical foundation.
