Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

In this study, two websites were implemented, one using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and the other using React, in order to explore how the WCAG 2.1 guidelines can be applied in different technical environments. The websites were tested using automated accessibility tools such as Lighthouse, WAVE, and Axe DevTools, as well as manual testing based on DIGG’s supervisory manual, to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 requirements. The results were analyzed to identify potential differences in the effectiveness of the tools and to determine which tool is most suitable for accessibility testing. The study shows that the developer’s knowledge and systematic application of WCAG are essential to achieving good accessibility, regardless of the technical platform. The conclusion is that a combination of automated testing and manual review is required to ensure a high level of accessibility, and that even small adjustments can significantly impact the user experience.
