The purpose of this study is to examine how The Satanic Temple does Satanic Feminism in an American context in their fight for equality. The material in this study consists of text, imagery and lay-out published on the Satanic Temple’s website. This material was examined with Multi Modal Critical Discourse Analysis. My theoretical stance, with its base in queer feminism, builds on the notion that both gender and sexuality are social constructs. The results of the study demonstrate that The Satanic Temple employs both different modes and a strategic and provocative approach to challenge patriarchal structures. By using principles, destabilisation, legal aid, commodification and empowerment as their main themes of their satanic feminist praxis, TST fills a void between secularism and religion in the American landscape.
