Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Many multi-dwelling buildings from the Million Programme era are now approaching the end of their technical lifespan, resulting in the need of extensive renovations. In conjuntion with this there are recommendations of energy-efficient measures such as window replacemaent, upgrades in the ventilation system and enhancing the buildings insulation. These measures are deemed necessary due to new requirements imposed by the European Parliament concerning building energy efficiency. This study investigates the Smartfront-method which can be employed to address these energy efficiency requirements. The focus of the study lies on theoretically calculating the potential energy efficiency improvement of a property following renovation using the Smartfront-method. The study is conducted in the form of a case-study in collaboration with Smartfront, focusing on one of their already completed projects. The results of the study indicates that this method of renovation can be used to comply with the new requirements for multi-dwelling buildings originated from the European Parliament. The study also shows that the requirements with this method can be exceeded. Furthermore, the study draws parallels to existing research within the area of energy efficiency and suggests in-depth studies wich can be conducted in the future.
