The purpose of this research is to study the satisfaction level of street children on their street life, source of motivation and happiness, and to identify the uses of resources through which their life can be made better. Efforts have been made to enhance the street children’s participation right as an active agent of change by asking their suggestion to improve their capabilities. A qualitative method was employed to collect survey data through semi-structured interviews from 20 street children in Peshawar, Pakistan in 2014. The data sets were collected from independent and supervised street children. Physical violence and abuse are the main factors behind them running away from their homes. Survival sex, drugs and bad company are the negative influences preventing them from acquiring a better life. Their financial independence and peer groups are their motivational source. Peers are also a reliable source for food and shelter but are unreliable in providing care and protection. The street children suggested that counseling to parents should be provided to stop child and drug abuse. Good schools, free education, and vocational training programs can raise their social and economic welfare. Street children indicated that raising awareness of street children’s situation in the community can be beneficial. Street children can be provided assistance in setting up small businesses for living.
