Introdução: Oestudo objetiva apresentar como as iniciativas do Local Contexts,com a disponibilização de etiquetas, mais especificamente as Traditional Knowledge Labels(TK Labels), podem contribuir para a construção de estratégias de representação digital que respeitem e fortaleçam a identidade e os direitos das comunidades indígenas em relação ao seu patrimônio cultural.Metodologia: Utiliza a revisão de literatura e a pesquisa documental, com abordagem descritiva, exploratória, e análise qualitativa. Inicialmente, foi realizado um levantamento de fontes pertinentes sobre a representação de objetos indígenas em ambientes digitais, com destaque para a iniciativa Local Contexts.Resultados:As TK Labelstêm a capacidade de ser incorporadas aos metadados de registros culturais, permanecendo associadas a esses registros em todas as suas versões subsequentes. O emprego dessas etiquetaspermite que sejam identificados e marcados os materiais que possam ser percebidos como ofensivos ou delicados. Adicionalmente, a inclusão de informações suplementares pelos representantes indígenas nos metadados originais da coleção enriquece o contexto e a compreensão desses materiais, o que aumenta sua importância cultural.Conclusão:Conclui-seque as Local Contexts Labels, especialmente as TK Labels, desempenham um papel fundamental na construção de estratégias de representação digital que respeitam e fortalecem a identidade e os direitos das comunidades indígenas. O uso das etiquetas de Conhecimento Tradicional (TK Label) é essencial para uma representação autêntica e inclusiva do patrimônio cultural indígena em ambientes digitais, promovendo a justiça cultural e o respeito mútuo entre todas as partes envolvidas.

Introduction: The study aims to present how Local Contexts initiatives,with the provision of labels, more specifically Traditional Knowledge Labels (TK Labels), can contribute to the construction of digital representation strategies that respect and strengthen the identity and rights of indigenous communities in relation to theircultural heritage.Methodology:The researchuses literature review and documentary research, with a descriptive, exploratory approach and qualitative analysis. Initially, a survey of relevant sources on the representation of indigenous objects in digital environments was carried out, with emphasis on the Local Contexts initiative.Results:The TK Labels can be integrated into the metadata of cultural records, thus remaining associated with these records in all subsequent versions. The use of these labels allows for the identification and tagging of materials that may be perceived as offensive or sensitive. Additionally, the inclusion of supplementary information by indigenous representatives in the original collection metadata enriches the context and understanding of saidmaterials, thereby increasing their cultural significance. Conclusion:Weconclude that the Local Contexts Labels, especially the TK Labels, play a fundamental role in constructing digital representation strategies that respect and strengthen the identity and rights of indigenous communities. The use of Traditional Knowledge Labels (TK Label) is essential for an authentic and inclusive representation of indigenous cultural heritage in digital environments, promoting cultural justice and mutual respect between all parties involved.
