    Abstract [en]

    This bachelor thesis is carried out in the third year of the mechanical engineering program at Mid Sweden University in Östersund. The thesis addresses airplane lifting operations. These are simulated with two different lifting devices. The program used for the simulations is SolidWorks, a 3D modeling program with analysis and simulation features. The current lifting device used is outdated and the purpose of this work has been to create a decision base for the choice of a new lifting device.Based on the simulations made, it is concluded that lifting device 2 allows for better clearance between the aircraft and the lifted objects, thus reducing the risk of personal injury and machine damage. The principal is advised to choose lifting device 2 in front of lifting device 1.
