Abstract [en]

The aim of the project is to develop a new air purifier for the company Levande Filter. This modelhad been designed to meet the needs of individual customers for home use. The result will be aluxury product which captures plant’s natural air cleansing ability. A functional air purifier whichcan be used easily by the customer without being connected to a main water supply. The project will include an analysis stage, a creative stage and a presentation stage. The first stage consists of a study into the technical function of Levande Filter’s existing designsand their patented technology. A market analysis will be utilised as well as a user study of existingand new consumer groups. The creative solutions will be analysed, tested and adapted to createa final design, which will be incorporated into a presentation report that shall be presented to theexaminers and the partners.During the project I will work alongside Idag design studio in Sundsvall. They will work on aseparate project with a different design goal intended to create a product with a business tobusiness strategy. This examination project is in contrast, focussed on a business tocustomer strategy. The optimal end result is that the suggested solution will be further developed byLevande Filter after the project is finished, in my name. This will mean using the design as part oftheir future business strategy and it will create a new user market for the business. The finishedreport and presentation is to be completed on the 12th May 2016.
