Abstract [sv]

Inom utbildningsprogrammet civilingenjör i teknisk design på Mittuniversitetet har en av studenterna under sitt examensarbete tagit fram en ny konstruktion av ett fogsvanshandtag genom en designprocess på uppdrag av G-man Tools AB. Rapporten presenterar den designprocess som genomförts för att vidareutveckla det befintliga handtaget. Det med syfte för att den nya konstruktionen ska eliminera viss produktionstid och moment som i sin tur ska minska kostnad vid produktionen. Metoden för genomförandet har varit att ta fram ett antal nya koncept som sedan har genomgått användartester av slumpmässigt utvalda personer. Resultatet presenteras som ett slutkoncept efter återkoppling från testerna och en utförd designprocess med alla dess delmoment. Det slutliga konceptet digitaliserades som en 3D-modell i programmet Solidworks för möjliggöra leverans av en utskriven fysisk modell med konstruktionsunderlag till företaget.

Abstract [en]

Within the education program degree of Master of Science in Engineer-ing: Industrial Design Engineering at Mid Sweden University has one of the students during their thesis developed a new design of a handle for a hand-held saw through a design process on behalf of the G-Man Tools AB. This report presents the design process undertaken to further develop the existing handle. The goal with a new design is that it will eliminate certain production time and steps, which in turn will reduce the cost of production. The mode of operation has been to develop a number of new concepts which then underwent user testing by random-ly selected people. The result is presented as a final concept for the feedback from the tests, and an accomplished design process with all its parts. The final concept was digitized as a 3D model in Solid Works to enable the delivery of a printed physical model with constructional drawings for the company.
