Abstract [en]

This report describe some information about insulationmaterial and how they can be used for insulation of buildings climate shell. The aim is to give individuals information about insulation in order to facilitate the selection of materials for both new construction and reconstruction. The background is that the largest energy use in a house is the heating that occurs during the building's service life. It outlines why you should isolate, some different insulating materials and their properties, the requirements Boverket has and the energy savings can be made by isolation.

In the discussion there are reflections on what is the most sustainable choice of materials and if the added substances can be replaced by less harmful ones. It also discusses if the energy use is illustrated, or if subsidies set up can be of any importance in changes in the future.

The question which insulation is the best is not easy to answer then what is best is not always the same for everyone. Depending on how you perform the work of isolation, various alternatives may be preferable. Insulation material should be sustainable both in terms of the content of hazardous substances, lifetime, and insulation properties. In an overall assessment of environmental and energy efficiency perspective, cellulose fiber, seems in many cases to be a favorable option.

The requirements of Boverket makes of the use of energy in homes is too poor and needs to be raised for us to reach climate goals 2020th.

Increased insulation can about the mismatches cause problems as it can lead to undesirable effects that indirectly increase energy use in that of increased cooling requirements. This can be done regardless of the insulationmaterial you choose to use. Energy use for heating homes could be much lower than it is today if awareness increased.

Technique to visualize energyconsumption may be a milestone for future energy efficiency. At home in households the living rarely has any perspective on how much energy is spent on heating, and cares mainly about having a comfortable indoor climate.

Awareness combined with increased interest in more energy-efficient building techniques lead to that the development goes faster forward and the only thing you can do wrong is to not fix anything, nor to be interest in it.
