Electronic Government, or e-Government, has been on the agenda for several years but, until recently research has mainly focused on a national level and there has been far less research into local governments. The purpose of the study is to analyse the development of e-Government services by local governments and through interviews collect, compare and assess data about actual local e-Government services in Sweden in order to find areas of assimilation and divergence. Furthermore, practices, good as well as bad, will be identified through analysis to provide guidelines for a knowledge and application centre for e-Government services on the local government level.
