Abstract [en]

This study examines how the implementation of AI can have a positive impact on the organization. In recent years, organizations have increasingly started using AI to extract business value from the vast amount of data available and the sharp increase in computing power. The challenge lies in taking full advantage of the benefits of AI technology. It is important to be aware of and adequately manage the consequences of AI systems. Comprehensive understanding is necessary to gain insight into how AI technologies can create benefits and what types of benefits are expected. By performing a qualitative analysis of existing research in the field, benefits that organizations may encounter while using AI systems were investigated. The results show that the impact of the implementation of AI can be divided into two main categories; the first type of AI effects is related to the changes that occur at the process level in an organization such as automation of tasks, increased efficiency and reduced costs while second order effects involve the effects that occur at the company level such as improvement of quality, innovation, profit improvements and competitive advantages on the market. At the corporate level, AI has the potential to impact corporate sustainability through aspects such as finance, energy, environment, safety, human factors and time use within organizations. Implementation of Al requires new leadership and organization, where it is important to reorganize management, collaboration, co-determination and qualification of the staff and promote high knowledge sharing. The study presents conclusions and recommendations based on an analysis of the findings and focused statements with the aim of providing the organization with insights into the embedded benefits they can achieve through a successful implementation of AI.
