Abstract [sv]

Undervisningen i matematik är styrd av läroboken enligt forskning och utredningar, både när det gäller planering av lektioner samt undervisningstid i klassrummet i form av enskild räkning. Undersökandet i studien gjordes genom klassrumsobservationer med kompletterande intervjuer av de lärare som undervisade under observationstillfällena. Resultatet visar att läroboken ligger till grund för allt matematiskt arbete förutom vid tre separata moment, vilket gör att undervisningen saknar den variation genom konkreta representationer som tidigare forskning anser gagnar elevers kunskapsutveckling. En orsak till att läroboken används i så stor utsträckning i matematikundervisningen kan vara den tidsvinst som lärare anser att läroboksanvändningen ger dem.
