This study is about political governance of the member states in the EU. Where different analyzes of the governance's impact on refugee reception have been carried out. The study uses immigrant policy preferences and explanatory factors as theory. The theory is explaining the difference between some of the ideological views on different standpoints. This theory is examined through a quantitative method where external factors such as GDP per capita and the level of democracy are also included as control variables. The study also includes the biggest ideologies in the governments in each member state to further explain the difference. The results of the analyzes showed that either the political governance or the external factors do not have a significant impact on the reception of refugees. Which mean that it requires other angles to explain the countries variation in the reception of refugees.
