Abstract [en]

The summer of 2023 a big accident took place in one of Swedens most popular amusement parks. The accident was soon well known in the media and many people were talking about it. For the amusement park called Gröna Lund a crisis was a fact and they needed to make fast decisions while communicating with stakeholders. This study is going to look deeper in to how Gröna Lund as an organization handled their crisis communication, in both their ownchannels and how they talked to reporters from selected news media in Sweden.Our problem definition is to answer these three questions, how did Gröna Lund communicate in their own channels?, how did Gröna Lund communicate to news media? and what is the difference between these media in the way they are communicating? By connecting the data from each media to different ways of crisis response strategies in a model the analysis will be more clear and manageable.The results from this study shows that Gröna Lund, depending on which media they are using or talking to during this crisis, varies which crisis response strategy they base their crisiscommunication on. In their own channels, for example their social media plattform Instagram, they have a more rebuilding way to talk to their stakeholders, while in interviews with reporters from the news media they have a more minimizing of the crisis way of communication based on Crisis Response Strategies.
