Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This report presents the process and outcome of a bachelor’s thesis project conducted at his Mid Sweden University, Sundsvall. The project was carried out in collaboration with the furniture company Normada, which wanted to expand its range of 3D-printed furniture in Scandinavian design with a smaller piece of furniture. The aim of the project was to develop a smaller piece of furniture that would suit the target groups of urban offices and hotels, with sustainability in mind, but also be aesthetically pleasing enough to fit into a home environment. The work began with an analytical phase where necessary infora information for the project was collected and it was found that a smaller stool was missing mation in the market for 3D-printed furniture and that it would fit well into the collaboration company’s product range. The analytical phase was followed by the creative phase, where concept sketches were further developed in CAD, and through 3D models, a total of 5 scale models were printed for further analysis. When the final design was completed, user tests were carried out, a final scale model was printed, and an accompanying seat in wood was designed. Finally, the final design proposal is presented in the presentation phase.
