Abstract [en]

This study aims to investigate how much four of the swedish parliament’s youth associations (SDU, SSU, LUF, UV) has gotten publicity by the swedish evening papers Aftonbladet and Expressen, within three weeks before the election day in Sweden compared to within three weeks after the election day. We have also compared the result between all of the four chosen youth associations to see how big the difference is between one and each of them. We want to see if the difference is big or not, but also why the difference is big or not.

The theory we used is the agenda setting theory, and the method is a quantitative content analysis with help by a code scheme.

The result of this study shows that Aftonbladet published more (61) articles than Expressen (44) in our chosen time period. Both of the evening papers published more articles before (60) the election day than after (38) about the four youth associations. On the election day seven articles was published by Aftonbladet and Expressen. The difference between how many articles Aftobladet and Expressen published during the chosen time period wassignificant.
