Abstract [en]

Problem formulation and purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine which leadership are in demand on the Swedish job market. This will be done by analyzing job advertisements from established supervisors. Through these analyzes, we want to clarify what the Swedish leadership ideal looks like in today’s business climate.

Methodology and material: This study has gathered over 50 job ads which have resulted in a large empirical foundation for this study. The ads have been put in a program and then been searched for keywords. The keywords are then presented in which frequency they occur, which leads to a presentation regarding the demand from the market. Each word presented in the result-part of this study then gets connected to the previously mentioned leadership-styles.

Main result: The result shows that the democratic leadership is what the job market is asking for. 97% of the words mentioned five times or more (and have a connection to leadership) can be connected to an democratic approach. 41% can be connected to an authoritarian approach, while only 8% can connect to the laissez faire leadership.
