This chapter examines the Finns’ in-grouptrust, defined here as trust in other Finnishnationals, and their out-group trust. As peoplemay respond to various groups differently, weinfer out-group trust from the respondents’dispositions to trust a number of differentnationalities. Trust in other nationalities isconsidered to reflect the extent of solidarity, acceptance and affective attachment acrosscountries. Considered as a type of generalizedtrust, it allows individuals from different countries to cooperate.
