Huvudtitel:Load capability analysis of a separation system

Abstract [en]

In this master thesis a load capability FE-analysis of a clamp-band separation system was built and performed in MSC Nastran SOL 400.

Goals were to document the modelling technique of the built Nastran FE-model and evaluate the performance in comparison to static test results in terms of accuracy (maximum deviation of 10% between test and analysis results) and Abaqus results in terms of trend (obtain typical results look) and CPU-time (equal or shorter time of solving FE-model).

Simulations of load capability required sufficient modelling of frictional effects such as sticking and sliding to obtain the realistic load responses of the system. Adjustments of contact parameters were done to capture the real behavior.

The goals are considered reached but with differences of modelling techniques and analysis configuration between Nastran and Abaqus. Accuracy goal is reached with a deviation of 4%. Trend and CPU goals are also reached.
