To do the study we've used framing theory and agenda setting asa starting point to see what representatives from SR, SVT Västernorrland and SundsvallsTidning uses as a focus in their political news coverage.Method:Interviews with reporters, editors or news directors from SR, SVT Västernorrland andSundsvalls Tidning.Result:Our result shows that most of the interviewed think that Sundsvalls Tidning has a broadernews coverage than SVT and SR Västernorrland do in Sundsvall. We can also see differencesbetween how the different news outlets frame political news in Sundsvall. As an example theSundsvalls Tidning representatives focuses more on individual politicians than how thepolitical process works. While Sundsvalls Tidning has a smaller district to report, the SR andSVT Västernorrland representatives say they are more focused on reporting on the wholecounty of Västernorrland. The SR and SVT Västernorrland representatives say that when2they cover political news in Sundsvall they try to report about the people who are affected bythe political decisions rather than what the politicians say or what they want to say. Keywords:News coverage, political news, Sundsvalls Tidning, SR Västernorrland, SVT Västernorrland, framing, local press.
