Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The standard electrical grid in today’s society is a one-way street. The electricity can come from many multiple sources even though the supplier only sells electricity from let’s say solar powered cells. All electricity goes through one line and from there out to the buyers. This is by creating a smart community and connecting everything and everyone. The electricity can then go from house to house. Neighbors can sell electricity from their own solar cells. This is done by combining smartgrid technologies with blockchain. Blockchain technologies have been around for a long time, but it is still growing and becoming more and more popular in today’s society. The interest is growing mainly because of the security blockchain technologies given by creating and adding information into an immutable ledger. This thesis provides an implementation of a blockchain system and testing its performance with different blockchain sizes but also with one and multiple users to test its scalability. I did such an implementation upon a blockchain system called Hyperledger Fabric. I performed and analyzed multiple tests. From the results we can see that this system works best in smaller communities. With the analysis I proposed future work to be done for this implementation but also ethical and societal aspects of this work.
