Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether people with the highly sensitive personality trait are more often looking for an education with a focus on a human treatment profession. The study is quantitative and was conducted through questionnaires on students in four classes from the program in Social Work and the program in Economics at Mid Sweden University in Östersund. The collected empirical data was analyzed through a bivariate analysis and then presented in descriptive statistics. The result indicated that there were no major differences between the programs regarding the choice of education and the highly sensitive person. Some results, on the other hand, show a difference between the sexes in relation to the highly sensitive personality, it is also possible to indicate that there may be a certain connection between the highly sensitive personality trait and the choice of education.
