Abstract [sv]
Intimate partner violence occurs in all societies around the world. There are many underlying factors that lie at the root of the cause of pain and the violence against women. There are different forms of violence that are defined and combined in different ways. Social workers who work against intimate partner violence use different types of working methods that make them easier for understanding and perceiving the violence. Violence focuses first and foremost on women who are most often victims of violence. Anybody may be affected by the intimate partner violence, and therefore it is important to have knowledge and understanding of being able to deal with the victims of violence and those who exercise intimate partner violence. This study aims at investigating primarily men's violence against women. Intimate partner violence is a fairly unexplored subject, and most studies on the subject place a lot of focus on violence against victims and not necessarily on social workers work. Violence in close relationship will be highlighted from an intersectional and feminist perspective, which gives an increased understanding of the problem. The result shows that intimate partner violence is a phenomenon that leads to an unhealthy behavior that causes the woman's, both the child's psyche in a negative way. Based on the study it is clear that intimate partner violence is a social problem that is not as visible in the society and many professions do not have much knowledge about it, it is extremely important to visualize the problem at micro, meso and macro level.
