Abstract [en]

In this study we investigate Nordic and non-Nordic women's different prerequisites on their way to leadership. In order to understand the women on a deeper level, we chose to apply a qualitative method where we conducted six interviews with current female managers. The result of this study shows that these women feel that their leadership is influenced by the fact that they are women of different background. In the interview, we found out that all respondents perceived that, as women, they had to work hard to earn the same respect as their male colleagues. In addition, the results also showed a difference regarding the women's different prerequisites, depending on whether their background. The non-Nordic group of women was found to undergo barriers and discrimination because of their skin color, they were muslim and non-Nordic women, which constitute an intersectional oppression.
