Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Companies’ media exposure, quality in CSR reports and employee satisfaction vary, and it is becoming increasingly more common for companies to create CSR reports to satisfy their stakeholders. The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the quality of CSR reports, its impact on media exposure and employee satisfaction, and how media exposure affects employee satisfaction through quality. The underlying purpose was to analyze whether there were any differences in media exposure, quality and employee satisfaction between companies operating in coordinated market economies (CME) and companies within liberal market economies (LME). The sample consisted of 192companies distributed among 124 companies operating within CME and 68 companies operating within LME. The relationships were analyzed by structural equation modeling. The results show that media exposure is positively related to quality and that quality is positively related to employee satisfaction. We also find a positive correlation between media exposure and employee satisfaction through quality. For our underlying purpose, we find that companies within CME establish higher quality CSR reports than companies within LME.
