Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine how the two biggest evening newspapers in Sweden kept their approach to press ethics during the initial month of reporting on #metoo Question at issue: How much of the editorial material regarding the #metoo-movement includes the nominations of suspects or convicted persons? Have they been consistent in their name publishing? Method and material: Quantitative content analysis of the two newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen. Main result: The two newspapers have been violating the ethics of the press to some extent during the investigated period. There have been numerous counts of name publishing, with very few, or none, convictions or police reports. Although the Swedish rules of press ethics say to be restrictive describing an offenders identity if there is no obvious public interest, both of the newspapers have revealed the identify of several innocent until proven guilty people. They have also done it in an inconsistent way, with no clear pattern, what it seems.
