Abstract [en]

Our society is turning into a more digitale one, where we use IT on a daily basis, but how does the leisure-time teachers in schools keep up with the rest of the society, with its constant change of diffrent tools and technology? The aim of this study is to understand if leisure-time teachers in school uses IT in their practice. It is conducted by a qualitative study in which six leisure-time teachers participated, based in different public schools around middle Sweden. The conclusion in this study is that the leisure-time teachers have access to digital tools, but do not use IT on regular basis in the leisure-time. It seems to depend upon their own perceptions of the curriculum but also in their lack of interests on IT. According to the leisure-time teachers it is a question for the principals of the schools to integrete IT in the leisure-time practice. They have to make the resources necessary for them, in terms of time, IT knowledge, support and digital tools.
