Abstract [sv]

Syftet med studien har varit att öka förståelsen om vad som kan ingå i begreppet lojalitet utifrån medarbetarnas perspektiv i relation till chef. Författarna har valt att göra en kvalitativ undersökning i form av semistrukturerade intervjuer. Resultatet av studien var att upplevelsen av chefens lojalitet var subjektiv och individuell. Slutsatserna som drogs var att chefen måste stå bakom medarbetaren och föra dennes talan oavsett vad som händer, lojalitet är individuellt, subjektivt och beskrivs som en känsla eller en upplevelse. Författarna kom även fram till slutsatserna att en stark organisationskultur och ett effektivt ledarskap möjliggör för att medarbetare ska uppleva lojalitet gentemot chef. Upplevelsen av bristande lojalitet eller lojalitetskonflikt är även den individuell och subjektiv.

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study has been to obtain an increased understanding of what is included in the term loyalty, from an employee’s perspective towards ones manager. The author’s have chosen a qualitative method in the form of a semi-structured interview. The result of the study showed that the perception of a manager’s loyalty was subjective and individual. The conclusions were that the manager must stand behind his/hers employees and stand behind them no matter what. Loyalty is individual, subjective and is described as a feeling or an experience. It was also concluded that a strong organizational culture and an effective leadership enables employees to display loyalty towards their manager. The perception of lacking loyalty, or conflict in loyalty, is also individual and subjective.
