Abstract [en]
This thesis presents the improvement of a laser engraving system and a study that leads to its optimization and the minimization of smoke generation. The system to be updated has certain limitations that disable it for normal use, therefore, reprogramming and redesign tasks have been carried out to achieve the most demanding objectives in terms of quality, time, and smoke generation. The development of this work includes several activities such as the implementation of a wireless interface, the micro-controller programming, the design of the pre-driver analog stage, the assembly and set up of the laser and the design of a photometric system to measure the smoke generation. The main objective of the presented study is to discover the optimal parameters that allow the integral improvement of the performance of the machine. The results obtained have been promising, where it is shown that the system carries out its task with the highest quality and efficiency, achieving at the same time, a notable smoke reduction.
